That trip to AR for the EWMA has been cancelled. No one from our chapter is attending. I did attend the GA Ride In this past month and used the camper at Yonha Mountain Campground. I ordered a wedge pillow for the camper to help me get more comfy while sleeping. I made two POTA activation at two state parks while in the Helen area attending the EWMA event. Since there will be no more Going Caching events I will be attending the TAG Fall Cave In this year. Taking the camper. I attended GeoWoodstock XXI back in May and then went down to Cowtown USA in Cuba, MO and to my friend Sharon's place to show them the camper. They are Spyder owners. Did some POTA activations at GeoWoodstock too.

Well I didn't make it Quartsfest last year as the temps in GA were going to be in the single digits and I didn't want Kitty to die. I had purchased a Joolca water system and a Harbor Freight generator for the trip. This past year I designed and built a camper that I can tow with my Spyder RTS or my Outback. Named it the 'Air Scream Trailer' cause it's screaming ugly. I did a trial run to GeoWoodstock XX in AZ. Then got a mattress cover and a few other tweaks to the camper before my trip to Maine for my grand niece's wedding. I've gotten tired of setting up my dome tent which is getting harder for me to do. Thus the camper. I am still active with POTA activations. Hoping to hit the 3K contacts for Pigeon Mountain WMA soon. Kitty is still doing fine. Planning to attend GeoWoodstock XXI in May in WV. I'll tow the camper up there even though I have motel reservations. I'm planning to do a camping/POTA activation when coming back home so I'll need the camper to camp in. Looking at maybe more camping and POTA activations this coming year to get some good use out of the camper. I've got reservations for a EWMA trip this year in AR. I'd be towing with my Spyder for the first time. Should be an adventure.

This year's Oberservation Skills Test at Going Caching 2023 was a success! We have had a POTA activation with the POTA Gang almost once a week this past year. I have the most contacts at Pigeon Mountain WMA and Berry College WMA? I'm number two at the Cloudland Canyon State Park. Dean Harris KK4EB told me about Quartzfest that will be held in Arazona this next January. I'm planning to attend. Ham radio and camping in the desert. I'm planning a side trip to a small town in CA to get a geocache so I can add CA to my geocaching states list. I'll have to check the weather to see what route I'll be taking out west as it will be winter weather. I may also cruise up to NV to do a POTA activation above Parump on the mountain. My sleep number bed in history. I tried getting the replacement mattress part this past year with no sucess. A Nectar mattress arrived yeasterday. I'll keep all the air chambers and the pump assembly hoping for some use in the future from the sleep number bed. Kitty is doing well. She just needs to remember to get in her cat house on the porch during the colder weather when she isn't in the house.

At this years Going Caching 2022 the observation skills test was a bomb because I didnt find the last puzzle piece until Sunady. Next year's theme is Vikings. I'll use the items I made for next year's test but with a different coin. I did make it out to SE Idaho in May and had a couple of first time POTA activations on some of the airstrips. On the way out there someone else was activating the rest of the airstrips for the first time. At least I had the activation as a first at Hollow Top Airstrip, the one I discovered in 2016 after visiting the Park History geocache again. I did an activation in Denver, CO and then had a picnic with Christoper and Nicki at the site's parking lot. It took over a year to get Jack's radio gear and be able to sell it at the Stone Mountain Hamfest. I still have his antennas. I sent Rita a check for the sold gear. The GWRRA is no longer an organization. A new group has started up as the Eagle Wings Motorcycle Association. We will see how this goes in the coming year?

At this past year's Going Caching 2021 in October I tried a different observation skills test and it was successful. Sit there and they will come. I gave out 86 copper rounds so if I do it again I will set a quanity limit. Those rounds are not cheap! I attended the 2021 TAG Fall Cave In and did some contesting on the ham radio in my enclosed trailer. That was the highlight of the weekend.
An update on my friend Jack McGuire is that he passed away on September 23, 2021. The hospital people put him on a ventilator so I was thinking he was doomed. If he had not been sedated he would have told them not to put him on one of those. There is an 80% chance you will die if put on a ventilator! It looks like I may try to activate those airstips in SE Idaho maybe late May or June depending on the weather temps. We've added some more folks doing POTA stations this past year with Peter and Karen. I was contacted by Dean Harris this past week as he is interested in getting involved with POTA activations. He is currently just a hunter. I've gotten together with Larry Martin in Atlanta at the Chattahooche River Recreational Area with a POTA set up. I would operate and then he would operate. I purchased an Igloo 3 tent type of thing that is used for ice fishing as it has no floor. It is for cooler weather when doing POTA? I also purchased a Little Buddy heater to go inside. I installed a reciever hitch to my Outback so I can use a hitch mount stick antenna setup for doing POTA? This will come in handy when I go to Idaho. I have to make at least 10 contacts per POTA setup for it to count as an activation. So I would activate one location with enouugh contacts and then move to the next one with out having to break down an antenna setup. While I'm out there I'll check on the Geocache I've visited three time since 2011 to see how many people have visited it since 2019? Maybe I take a dip in the 100° spring off the highway south of Arco? My next Outback addition will be a light bar up front and a set of fog & driving lights. I want these installed on there before I drive out west. Saturday 1/1/2022 it was in the mid 70's. Then Sunday/Monday I had three inches of snow up here with freezing temps in the low 20's! I guess that's called climate change?
