Update 4-2016
Wow, it's been a year since I've logged on here. Going to make it a point to enter more on my blog in the future!
Latest on The Property is that the dead Ford tractor that came with the property has been 'adopted' to a guy in TN. It got trailered out last Monday. Happy trails tractor!
I purchased a new white RTS Spyder last June and have up over 5K miles on it so far. I still have the blue RT that I've had for over four years now. I drive it mostly local as it may still have some issues? The new one will be used for traveling afar and some local too.
I started reworking the outside garden a couple of weeks ago. Putting the fence back up, rearranging the cinder blocks to form two long bedding areas. I've added more of the dirt mix to the garden. I will get the gate built and installed soon and finish the fencing.
I've had an inside garden of salad type plants in a sectioned off area of the porch for several months.
I wish it would stay warm so I can plant stuff outside without fear it's going to get cold again.
Some of the trees up here are starting to bloom. They have long since bloomed in the lower elevations weeks ago.
The Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force guys paid a visit in February looking for the previous owner. His son Seth had just been arrested again. They think the Smiths may still be living in the area instead of FL, as I was told that were moving to? I found out that they had siezed 1.1 million in assets from the Smiths when they were raided several years ago.
I met Mac Shipman that lives up the hill next to me. He had driven down on his Gator and we had a nice conversation. I had also talked to John Boyles who owns the property across the road that has been clear cutted. He now has some cows over there. I got to talk to a few of them when getting my mail. Cows are funny when you talk to them. They just stare at you.
The last couple of days I have been on a sewing binge. Making pouches for some items for traveling this year on the Spyder. Have to get things lighter for the Spyder & Ooogly Trailer....not using heavy storage boxes as I do in the truck.
I rebuilt the Ooogly Trailer. The decking is thinner plywood that I painted with marine paint. Added a larger battery and controller so I can have power when camping to run the XM radio or a iPod. I'll be able to hook up a 15 watt solar panel to keep things running during the day. I don't want to power things off the Spyder's battery.
I attached the PVC pipes better than before. They are for carrying tarp poles and rebar safely. I added some better attach points for the cooler.
I had a close encounter of the Jack knife kind a month ago when backing up the trailer, thus the rebuild.
Still s l o w l y moving stuff up from Marietta. Brought up all my tool boxes over a month ago. I need to bring up some couches for better sitting up here. The turntable and all my albums, books and other items.
That's it for now.......
