An update on my friend Jack McGuire is that he passed away on September 23, 2021. The hospital people put him on a ventilator so I was thinking he was doomed. If he had not been sedated he would have told them not to put him on one of those. There is an 80% chance you will die if put on a ventilator! It looks like I may try to activate those airstips in SE Idaho maybe late May or June depending on the weather temps. We've added some more folks doing POTA stations this past year with Peter and Karen. I was contacted by Dean Harris this past week as he is interested in getting involved with POTA activations. He is currently just a hunter. I've gotten together with Larry Martin in Atlanta at the Chattahooche River Recreational Area with a POTA set up. I would operate and then he would operate. I purchased an Igloo 3 tent type of thing that is used for ice fishing as it has no floor. It is for cooler weather when doing POTA? I also purchased a Little Buddy heater to go inside. I installed a reciever hitch to my Outback so I can use a hitch mount stick antenna setup for doing POTA? This will come in handy when I go to Idaho. I have to make at least 10 contacts per POTA setup for it to count as an activation. So I would activate one location with enouugh contacts and then move to the next one with out having to break down an antenna setup. While I'm out there I'll check on the Geocache I've visited three time since 2011 to see how many people have visited it since 2019? Maybe I take a dip in the 100° spring off the highway south of Arco? My next Outback addition will be a light bar up front and a set of fog & driving lights. I want these installed on there before I drive out west. Saturday 1/1/2022 it was in the mid 70's. Then Sunday/Monday I had three inches of snow up here with freezing temps in the low 20's! I guess that's called climate change?
