Property improvements
I have built two shooting tables for the shooting range I am working on. One is finished and painted red. The second is built but half way painted blue. The tables will be carried by my Kubota via eye hooks installed in the table tops.
I will be installing a pulley system for the long range rifle targets to save time in setting them up. The pistol range will of course be shorter and on level ground.
Started cleaning up the cinder blocks from the garden area and dropping them in an area of erosion. That should slow the water down? Will start dis-assembling the garden fence soon. Found an outdoor faucet behind the garden area that works. This will be great that I don't have to drag a hose from the house area for watering anymore. Yay!
Hope to get a load of Crusher Run gravel next week for improvements of more areas for parking and fixing up current areas. Will use some for the place I intend to place the shooting tables, I cleared out this past week.
A Glock I won in a random drawing from a Glock match last Summer, finally came in. It was my Xmas present?
Shooting in a Glock match you have a 1:4 chance of winning something. As above, you don't have to be a good shot to win. You are shooting against yourself and trying to improve over time. The times I've place we're in the lower half of the category I was shooting in. I have invited a number of people to shoot in the matches. If you don't have a Glock, I will supply one with four magazines. You pay the fees, the ammo and your safety gear..."ears and eyes".
Come and join me.

Thanksgiving
This day has turned out like Labor Day. Everyone bailed. So I will be cooking a turkey for the first time and eating alone. I guess if I invite some for Thanksgiving weeks ago and I don't mention it again, they get it in their head that they need to make other plans? What's with that? They could have called/texted to confirmed.
Moving up here is NW Georgia has created the logistic problem that I'm a two hour drive from the Atlanta area. No problem for me as I have made the round trip drive many times in my moving process. But for others, "it's too far".
But, I have been enjoying it up here. Working on installing my Ham radio antennas. I have three now. Two for HF and one for 2 meters.
Now that all my "crops" have died, I can get busy pulling down the garden fence and cleaning up all the burnt debris for the mobile home that was there from the previous owners. I plan to expand the garden area, re-fence it and put in a real gate. I will have to re-route the power line for the well pump house for the expansion. They buried it about two inches deep. I found it with the back hoe when prepping a place for the LP tank for the Generac generator.
Time to hike to the mailbox to see if any packages arrived with my mail. Then I start the Turkey Day cooking for me, myself and I a fine meal!
Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!

What a year!
This past year I bought some property in June and am in the slow process of moving up there. It's located on Lookout Mountain in NW Georgia off Highway 157. I have acreage with mostly hardwoods. A big home with a six space carport. Up on the hill is an enclosed, two section garage with roll up doors. There is also an open covered area as part of the garage. The house is about 1/4 mile from the road.
The Pigeon Mountain WMA is about a mile from me. And there is the Hogjowl Airstrip near by too.
It's a drive to get anywhere like stores, gas stations or restaurants. 15-30 minutes away.
I like it up here as there are critters (turkeys, bunnys, frogs, deer) and a donkey/mule that 'HeeHaws' every once in a while up the hill.
I purchased a Kobota B2320 Tractor with a backhoe and I feel that is one the best investments I made. It's a whole lot of fun driving it around as it substitutes as a 4 wheeler. I have gotten a lot of stuff done with it than I could have done with a shovel and wheelbarrow.
Also, for the first time in my life, I have enjoyed mowing the lawn with a John Deere riding mower! After the lawn was done the first time, I went looking for stuff to mow.
My HF ham station is up and running with two antennas. A Generac will be installed next week.
More later.....
